All Things New!

The bible tells us that God's mercies are renewed every morning. God is the author of "NEW." Nothing ever gets old with God because everything He made, He said was good. We on the other-hand, quickly get bored with something new. Everything today seems to be disposable. After a while, we want something different; we want something new. As you pray and reflect over the next few weeks, remember that God is the architect of all creation and He can renew things that seem old, but is still "good." Don't throw away a good dream, a powerful vision because it has aged with years in waiting. God can make all things NEW!

Small victories!

Day FIVE! My body has finally accepted that it will not enjoy three hot meals a day and a lot of snacks in between for a while. I am remembering to drink lots of water during my fast. It helps to curve my appetite. I expect to hunger more for God than for food from this point on in my fast. Don't expect to much to soon from your 21 day fast. It takes time to get into your spiritual groove. Don't be surprised about getting your breakthrough, or answer at the end of your fast. If you know the story in the bible about Daniel's fast, you know that his answer didn't come early, but it did come on time. Remember, it is not the destination that is the most important. It is the day to day journey during your fast that allows God to grow your faith, teach you how to recognize His voice, and learn self discipline. Whatever compelled you to fast, keep it in front of you. Pray about it; talk about it; shout about it. Bring it into existence by fasting and praying.

Don't forget to pray.

Traditional wisdom say that you can't sufficiently fast and pray with a busy schedule. This could be true. However, for most people having a busy work day should not hinder their ability to connect with God, if only, briefly. Very few people have the time to spend their day in solitude. The average Christian today must juggle their schedule to fit everything in. You can have an incredible fast with inspiration from the Holy Spirit in hectic times if you remember "to pray without ceasing". Your prayers don't always need to be on your knees, or your head down and eyes closed. Develop the discipline to pray about everything all the time with your mouth open and sometimes closed. With your head down and sometime up and opened, when you are on your knees and sometimes when you are on the run. Pray without ceasing means exactly that: Pray all the time.
