Break the yoke!

I grew up in the country and terms like yoke were familiar to me. I knew that a yoke was used to control certain animals. In the bible, the word yoke is used symbolically to represent something that binds, oppress, or control a person's life. Yokes often comes in the form of an addiction. I don't know what you understand about addictions, but they can be hard to break. Some people allow their addictions to completely destroy their lives. I know a man who became addicted to drugs as a young boy. His addiction made him toxic to his family, success, and even kept him from serving the Lord the way he was meant to do. His addiction nearly destroyed his life, until he discovered the wonder working power of Jesus Christ. Salvation means much more than just going to heaven. Saved is a powerful word alone. It means more than just being safe; it means to be rescued and delivered from all harm. Living for Jesus is a yoke breaker! Fasting and prayer can bring a person close enough to the person of Jesus Christ that the yoke they are wearing becomes powerless and break away into shattered pieces. Get close to Jesus and say goodbye to the yoke.
